Brazen Disregard for Our Neighborhoods
In this week’s Tilson Tracker, we’re highlighting Tilson’s blatant disregard for our neighborhoods, our roads, and our yards. Tilson is quick to remind the public that they are entitled to work in the public right of way, as they proudly state in their article: "When the Right of Way Seems Right in the Way." However, entitlement doesn’t excuse negligence.
Flaunting Their Right-of-Way Privileges
Just because Tilson has permission to use the public right of way doesn’t mean they can flaunt it with an entitlement attitude. The right to work in these spaces comes with the responsibility to do so safely and respectfully. Instead, Tilson’s actions show a company more interested in cutting corners than protecting the communities they disrupt.
Breaking the Rules in Plain Sight
Tilson’s own social media posts from Las Vegas reveal them violating key safety regulations, including:
Working on both sides of the street simultaneously, creating hazardous conditions for residents and travelers.
Operating outside of established work zones, ignoring approved traffic control plans and endangering both their staff and the public. These images also show ADA violations, such as stacking yellow trench plates and failing to provide proper pedestrian detours, further compromising accessibility and safety.
Endangering Our Community
These reckless actions put neighbors, pedestrians, and drivers at risk, demonstrating a clear lack of concern for community safety. It’s not just about the right to work in the public right of way—it’s about respecting the people who live and travel through these spaces every day.
The Call for Accountability
Tilson’s brazen behavior underscores the need for stricter oversight and enforcement from the City of Las Vegas. The community deserves contractors who prioritize safety and respect over cutting corners.
